Vaginal Laxity

Vaginal laxity, atrophy, and other similar issues tend to become more common over time. In particular, women who have had children may be especially familiar with these concerns. For some of us, these problems can be both uncomfortable and damaging to our self-confidence. The good news is that addressing vaginal issues can be done through minimally-invasive, and even non-invasive means. At Grace Gynecology, we proudly offer the MonaLisa Touch® and TempSure® Vitalia systems to help combat vaginal issues without the need for surgery.

How Does Vaginal Laxity Develop?

Trauma and stretching due to childbirth are the most common causes of vaginal laxity. Having more than one child can increase the chances of developing this problem. However, this issue can occur even if you don’t have children due to the gradual process of collagen loss. After the age of 30, our bodies begin producing less collagen and this decline continues indefinitely. As collagen production decreases, vaginal laxity increases, and issues begin to occur. Kegel exercises are the best means of maintaining vaginal health, but they’re even more helpful when coupled with an effective vaginal rejuvenation treatment.

What Are the Symptoms?

Symptoms of laxity can also coincide with incontinence and sexual dysfunction. Entering menopause can make these issues even worse, complicating matters further. In the past, the only way to address these issues was through surgical procedures. Thankfully, non-invasive methods have recently become available and we’re happy to provide them at our Rockwall, Texas center.

Treatment Options for Vaginal Laxity

Here at Grace Gynecology, we provide both the MonaLisa Touch® and TempSure® Vitalia treatments to help improve the form and function of your vaginal wall. These devices work by stimulating collagen production in your intimate area, providing both immediate and long-term results. Treatments typically take less than an hour and don’t result in any downtime.
